Topic: When Faith Inspires Service:
What Guides Us in Public Leadership?
Many local leaders are drawn to public service by a sense of higher purpose, often rooted in personal faith. At the same time, they take an oath to serve communities of many beliefs, values, and worldviews. How do we reconcile these motivations? What does it mean to lead with both personal conviction and public accountability?
This conversation won’t debate religion or doctrine—it will explore the civic dimensions of leadership shaped by faith. Together, we’ll examine the role of conscience, the boundaries of church and state, and the challenges leaders face when private beliefs meet public responsibility. Come ready to reflect, share, and learn alongside peers who understand the weight of this calling.
We’ll avoid partisan politics and focus on practical strategies for stability and progress—exploring how local leaders can address immediate challenges while preparing for the long-term implications. Bring your experiences, concerns, and best ideas—we’ll tackle this challenge together.
Hosted by Matt Lehrman of Social Prosperity Partners, this lightly moderated Zoom-based conversation offers friendly, supportive conversation without presentations.
